Automotive Technician

Hessert Chevrolet, has immediate openings for experienced and qualified automotive technicians -- all classifications.....

We are seeking self-managed individuals who understand urgency in production without sacrificing the quality or customer confidence and complete satisfaction we pride ourselves on.

Qualified candidates must bring drive, resourcefulness and expertise to the table.

These positions offers full-time employment with a comprehensive benefits package. We also offer paid training, paid holidays, paid sick leave and paid vacations. Above industry average hourly rates commensurate with skills and experience PLUS hourly incentive bonuses for production. Our shop is busy, safe, clean and fully operational.


* Perform work specified on maintenance and repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and/or manufacturer standards

* Diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, air conditioning, etc. to specification

* Provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs

* Explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to sales & service management and customers

* Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing technology.

* Inspect and test new and pre-owned vehicles and recording findings so that necessary repairs can be made.


Must be experienced and aware of the latest automotive technologies and be a persistent problem solver. We have determined some factors that may enable your success:

* Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an automotive technician (automotive mechanic)

* Prior GM experience preferred

* Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications preferred

* Team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service

* Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.)

Parts Counter Person

Hessert Chevrolet is the fastest growing New Car Dealership in the Philadelphia area. We are looking for an experienced Parts Counter Person to join our team and help grow our parts operation.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintains a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of the service department, wholesale accounts, and the retail customer.
  • Performs stock orders.
  • Establishes individual parts inventory levels and balances them for maximum turn ratios.
  • Ensures that parts inventory turns a minimum of 8 times per year.
  • Monitors and adjusts inventory to minimize obsolescence.
  • Ensures that all parts are properly tagged so that the dealership recovers full credit from the factory.
  • Educates employees on all internal policy changes and enforces same.
  • Sets and enforces a policy on the special ordering of parts. Ensures that stock orders represent at least 90 percent of all orders.
  • Performs monthly parts reconciliation with the accounting department.
  • Conducts random bin checks on a monthly basis.
  • Ensures that the same high quality level of service provided to outside customers is also provided to internal dealership customers.
  • Works with other departmental managers to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for all jobs.
  • Provides technical assistance to parts department employees.
  • Coordinates a prompt, efficient, and timely flow of paperwork.
  • Directs shipping and receiving efforts to ensure timely processing.
  • Develops and utilizes a lost sales tracking report.
  • Follows outside parts and counter sales efforts, including a telemarketing program to keep in contact with customers.
  • Takes advantage of all manufacturers' inventory co-op advertising.
  • Develops, enforces, and monitors guidelines for working with customers to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
  • Handles customer complaints immediately and according to the dealership's guidelines and company's policies.
  • Enforces safety requirements, including but not limited to forklift training and operation, processing of MSDS sheets on all products carried, and OSHA Right-to-Know.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that may affect parts sales.
  • Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the parts department.
  • Maintains safe work environment.
  • Maintains professional appearance.
  • Signing bonus $1000.00

Qualified candidates must have strong leadership skills. possess a stable and verifiable work history, a proven track record of success with both profitability and CSI, be able to build, develop and mentor a comprehensive and productive team, be customer and employee focused and be able to work well both independently as well as within the management team and within the manufacturer's guidelines. The right candidate must be highly ethical and not only able to increase sales and profit but also dedicated to providing the staff with a pleasant, rewarding and safe working environment. Prior General Motors experience is preferred but not required.
